He played in the first game of the 49ers season. He recorded 20 yards from scrimmage. Though he did drop a catch in front of the large US audience watching the game. In October of 2015, he was dropped from the 49ers.
After this chain of events Hayne announced he would play for Fijian Rugby Sevens. With hopes that he would play in the 2016 summer olympics. Hayne played in 5 out of the 6 games in the London Sevens competition. They ended up reaching the semi final, which was an immediate qualification for the Olympics. For the summer games he was included in the 23 man training squad, but wasn’t picked for the final team to play in the Olympics.
In August of 2016, Jarryd Hayne's highly anticipated return to League was announced. He was to sign with the Gold Coast Titans for a staggering 1.2 million dollars per season, the most any player had been paid in one season.
To this day he still plays for the Gold Coast Titans, with another season set for him to play. He was picked for all 3 origin games in 2017 and scored a spectacular try in the first game.
