Bo s you Go for a walk A recent study in 2014 suggests that people tend to be more creative while they are walking rather when they are not moving or when sitting down. Regular physical activity can also play an important role in boosting your cognitive abilities, but this study found that simple walking serves the same purpose as it would temporarily improve certain types of thinking. So get off chair and try going for a quick walk around the neighborhood, or go run some errands outside your room, and see if inspiration might strike. Create psychological distances Taking a break from a task when you have hit a creative block could do the trick to sparking up your creative senses again. One experiment found that placing some psychological distance between yourself and the problem might also do the trick. Researchers have found that when participants imagined that a problem originated from a far location versus a very close one, they tended to solve more problems and came up with more creative solutions. Whenever you come across a dif cult issue, picture the problem to be distant and try to disconnect it from your current situation and location.
