Diversity , Equity and Inclusion ( DEI ) Overview
Employee Diversity Initiatives
The Diversity , Equity , Inclusion values for the Airports Authority are simple . Diversity and Inclusion strengthen the relationship with our employees and our suppliers , which has a direct impact on the customer experience . When our customers see themselves represented in our employee base , they are more likely to make us the airport of choice .
We want to ensure our DEI efforts are felt by all employees and stakeholders at the Airports Authority . Not only are we communicating our commitment to diversity , we also are building capacity and awareness for employees . This is done by highlighting our diversity and building awareness through training programs .
An in-depth analysis has been conducted on our hiring and retention efforts . Progress has been made , and we recognize there is an opportunity to improve even further in these areas . We have partnered with our local high schools , Women in Aviation , Women in Construction , International Association of Black Professional Firefighters and other organizations to increase minority representation in our employee base .
During Women ’ s History , Asian-Pacific Islander , Pride , Hispanic Heritage and Black History commemorative months , we featured online videos of our employees speaking on the importance of celebrating our diversity .
The Airports Authority launched a mentoring program with the understanding that this is a necessity in today ’ s workplace , especially considering our multi-generational workforce . Mentoring provides opportunities for underrepresented employees who face challenges when it comes to inclusion and career progression . This enables employees of diverse backgrounds to share opinions , knowledge , and ideas in support of organizational objectives . Our goal is to be more intentional about how our employees build relationships and develop their careers .
