Resiliency Plans
Two reports were completed to summarize resilience baseline assessments performed in 2021-2022 to assess potential risks to Dulles International Airport and Reagan National Airport .
In support of the resilience task , NREL engaged with the Airports Authority ’ s stakeholders to assess operational conditions , mission critical areas , interdependencies , and potential hazards , threats , and vulnerabilities to energy- and several energy-dependent ( such as transport , “ communication , and water ) systems and operations . These included assessing hazards , threats , and vulnerabilities to energy- and energy-dependent systems with modeling and analysis being performed only on the electricity system . Stakeholder activities included a kick-off meeting , data collection , and a series of stakeholder interviews . The information gathered from stakeholder interactions and data collection was utilized in conjunction with hazard identification and risk assessment scoring to assess potential risks to Dulles International Airport and Reagan National Airport . The risk assessment includes a list of potential mitigation measures for consideration by the Airports Authority .
