Environmental Sustainable Administration
Outreach and Engagement :
The Airports Authority worked throughout 2022 to increase awareness of the Sustainability Plan , initiatives and the overall program . The Airports Authority presented on the Sustainability Plan at five events including the American Association of Airport Executes ( AAAE ), Airports Consultants Council , and American Council of Engineering Companies events . The events included audiences across the aviation and transportation industry covering north America , Europe and Asia .
The City of Chicago Airports , Going Green Awards SM ( AGG ) were introduced in 2010 to recognize and celebrate leadership in sustainability , and seven individuals received accolades for their achievements in sustainable aviation . Since then , the AGG awards have added categories to be inclusive of people , projects , and partners that all contribute to the goal of sustainability at airports .
This year , a panel consisting of airport sustainability managers , industry publishers , and sustainability consultants judged nominations submitted from all corners of the world . The judges chose fourteen nominees that exemplified innovation and leadership and were given Airports Going Green Awards . A total of eight nominees were awarded an Honorable Mention for their commendable efforts .
The Airports Authority was awarded an honorable mention for the Sustainability Plan at the awards ceremony . It reads as follows : The Airports Authority moderated a panel on Green Concessions at the AAAE Airport Going Green Conference .
