All of the characters seem to be going through some emotional trauma which affects them in different ways. The high angle shot facing toward the girl, laying on the train tracks at 1:19 shows a real shift in the equilibrium, a sort of depressive mood which takes a tole on all of the characters. as well as this, there is also later on a short clip of a girl surround by nature while dressed in grey. This could be a metaphor for society's expectations surrounding females in the media.
The two girls at the start of the video create a base for the video. their performance makes it obvious to the audience that it will be a narrative piece (joan lynch). As well as this, the music video has a relationship between the lyrics (andrew goodwin), this is especially when the beat first drops and Jon bellion sings "we are beautiful" and the visuals show everyone being happy - signifying that their lives are beautiful.
THE JUXTAPOSITION OF THE BRIGHT COLOURED FLOWERS WITH THE GIRLS GREY TONES OF CLOTHES REALLY GIVES AN APPEALING IMAGE TO THE AUDIENCES' EYES. THE WAY IN WHICH THE CHARACTERS IN THE STORY HAVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS, THIS IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO INCORPORATE INTO MY MUSIC VIDEO: IMAGINATIVE, MODERN IDEAS ALONG WITH WELL SUITED COLOURS TO MATCH THE EMOTION IN A SONG.
