capture in that higher resolution , which also means lot of storage and expensive post facilities for handling that kind of data rate . As a director and cinematographer , would you advise a producer to shoot in such a dynamic range capture or shoot in 4k or 6k to meet the budget requirements ?
K . V . Anand - I think since its your film , the respect towards it should come within you than from others . When we did Sivaji in 2005 , we went for 4K Scanning which was expensive at that time . It was reasonable , because it was a high budget movie featuring a big star , shooting in many different countries . So , why not spend on scanning ? Definitely it took us some 20 days more on post production , but the image quality was fantastic . After that , it also helped when AVM productions released the same movie in 3D projection with Prasad EFX Studios who worked really well on it . So , the aim should be in the content of your film believing it would work , irrespective of all these formats . For me personally , I go with the best quality suiting the content , under the budget constraints . For my last film Anegan , we did the movie in
