and therein obtained his pro
card. The outcome was enor-
mously rewarding for Regan,
who said, “I have never worked
so hard for something in my en-
tire life. I have never dug so deep
and pushed so hard, even when
I had nothing left to give. I truly
now understand that dreams can
come true, because my dream of
becoming a professional body-
builder came true.”
With youth and limitless
energy on his side, Regan set
about to compete at the profes-
sional level and, indeed, had a
busy year in 2017. He competed
at the IFBB Tampa Pro, where
he finished fifth in the Men’s
Open Bodybuilding division. He
also took fifth place at the IFBB
Wings of Strength Chicago Pro.
The apex of his professional
year was a stellar performance
on the west coast, where Regan
took second place in Men’s
Bodybuilding at the IFBB Van-
couver Pro.
To build his phenomenal
body, Regan has worked under
the guidance of Chris Aceto, and
together they’ve developed one
seriously muscular, balanced,
and wonderfully proportioned
physique. Many in the know
would make the case that Regan
is a throwback to those classic
physiques of bodybuilding from
the ‘70s and ‘80s.
While his competition career
continues to blossom, Regan’s
business acumen has also de-
veloped well ahead of his young
years. He is the CEO of FlexPlex
Muscle and Fitness in London,
Ontario, at 1700 Dundas Street,
and his personal coaching is in
high demand. Regan has his own
line of athletic apparel and has
also built his own brand of “RG”
watches. He is very active on so-
cial media, constantly updating
his Instagram page
@regangbodybuilding and Face-
book page (regan.grimes.75).
Regan is sponsored by BPI
Sports, DoYouEven, Otomix, and
Macro Foods.
JONATHAN
SHREVE,
BODYBUILDING
A native of Windsor, Ontario,
Jonathan Shreve began training
when he was just 11 years old.
As a young star athlete playing
football and baseball, he gained
a quick appreciation for how
weightlifting could improve his
sports performance. Eventually,
“Jonni” went on to play varsity
football for the fabled St. Mary’s
University Huskies in Halifax.
Although there was interest from
some CFL teams, his football
career came to a conclusion, but
his bodybuilding career began to
take off.
Prompted by friends he’d
made within the bodybuilding
community itself, Jonni entered
his first competition in 2012 and
took the bronze in the Heavy-
weight division. Having quali-
fied for the CBBF nationals, he
finished a respectable eighth
place in the Super Heavyweight
class. In 2013, Jonni took his
competition career to a new
level by winning the NSABBA
(Nova Scotia) championship,
which gave him a lifetime bye
to the CBBF Nationals. In 2014,
Jonni had another break-
through by coming in fifth at the
Arnold Classic Amateur. Later
that year he finished second at
the Canadian Nationals and the
next year finished third at the
Arnold, a meteoric rise up the
bodybuilding ladder.
Jonni is sponsored by Nutra-
bolics and Popeye’s Supplements
and is the owner and creator of
#dreamchasing.
ZANE WATSON,
BODYBUILDING
“My body is not a work of
art. My body reflects the art
of work,” says Zane. Clearly,
his hard work has paid off
in recent years, with his
outstanding success since his
first national showing at the
2011 CBBF Nationals in Laval,
Quebec, where he finished
third in a fiercely contested
event. Two years later, in
Halifax at the 2013 Nation-
als, Zane won first place in
the Heavyweight division
and subsequently secured his
IFBB pro card.
The following summer,
in his debut performance as
a pro, Zane placed 13th at
the Toronto Pro SuperShow.
But the best was yet to come.
In 2015 he returned to the
stage in Toronto and not
only improved on his initial
placing there, but went all
the way to the top and won
his class. With the victory,
Zane automatically quali-
fied for the 2015 Olympia
212 Showdown. It was a very
busy three weeks for Zane,
since shortly after competing
in Las Vegas at the biggest
competition in bodybuilding,
he stepped on stage at the
Europa Phoenix Pro Show
in Arizona; Zane finished an
excellent sixth place.
Zane is the owner of Smart
Fit Nutrition (smartfitnutri-
tion.ca), providing healthy,
delicious meals for your
convenience.
ADOLPH
QUOIDA,
BODYBUILDING
A native of Monrovia, Liberia,
Adolph Quoida now lives in
Toronto and has taken the
bodybuilding world by storm.
Coming out of St. Mary’s
University, “Dolph” is the
reigning CBBF Light Heavy-
weight champion and newly
awarded IFBB pro. While he
was competing in Edmonton,
his incredible symmetrical
mass and lean composition
attracted the attention of
renowned IFBB pro (and
champion powerlifter) John-
nie Jackson, who offered his
guidance and wisdom. Dolph
attributes much of his phe-
nomenal success this year to
personal adversity: he lost his
young brother Gus prior to the
competition, but in his words,
“I almost quit… but [his] voice
kept pushing me to focus and
pursue my dreams.”
2017 was definitely quite
an improvement since Adolph
competed in the 2015 CBBF Na-
tionals, where he finished 11th
in the Heavyweight division.
He soared up to third place the
following year at the Nationals
in the Heavyweight category,
and he was also the 2016 Mr.
Ontario Overall champion.
Adolph is the CEO of 3D Muscle
and 3D Fitness and is active
in fitness consulting, dieting,
conditioning, and being a prep
coach. More about Dolph can be
found on Instagram at
@ifbb_pro_adolph_quoida.
