SCOTT H
ABERMEHL
Kitchener
Also known as Hollywood Built,
Scott Habermehl is a big believer
in remaining on the cutting edge
of fitness training by implementing
the most up-to-date research in
training and nutrition. For nearly a
decade, Hollywood Built has offered
“Ultimate fitness. Extreme results”,
and has an impressive track record of
getting exceptional results for both
average individuals and competi-
tive athletes, including clients who
have gone on to obtain their IFBB
pro card (acknowledging full props
to Hollywood Built). Specific ser-
vices offered by Hollywood include
competition prep, custom nutritional
and training design, weight loss and
lifestyle changing strategies, one-
on-one personal training and more.
Furthermore, if you’re a sports
competitor looking to improve per-
formance (be it for either strength
or endurance goals), Hollywood
can work with you to ensure you
maximize your athletic potential. At
the core of Hollywood’s philosophy
is “progress, not perfection”, taking
into account the need for clients to
appreciate that consistent gains over
time become permanent improve-
ments.
He’s one of the nation’s hottest IFBB pros and a highly successful, knowledgeable prep coach. As a
competitive athlete, 2015 was a banner year for Mike Cipriani, who first won the Ontario cham-
pionships in his Heavyweight Bodybuilding class, and then just four weeks later he also won the
Canadian Nationals in Edmonton and earned his IFBB pro card. Among Mike’s recent professional
placings are a seventh-place finish at the Sacramento Golden State Pro in 2016, and a sixth-place
result at this year’s Toronto Pro SuperShow. Mike believes earnestly that client goals must be realis-
tic and organized. He stresses that in order for clients to go all the way, they have to appreciate that
training is a marathon and not a sprint. Setting up “sub-goals” and executing them is at the core
of Mike’s prep philosophy; taking one step at a time (rather than a kilometre) is key, according to
Mike. As far as training protocol, Mike is a staunch advocate of using very high volume. He believes
in pushing as much blood into the muscles as possible, which is accomplished by high reps and
high sets, even if the weight needs to be lowered; in this manner nutrients can be flushed into the
muscles to help them grow – all the while making it easy to preserve good form and avoid injury.
What is the greatest reward you derive from the accomplishments of your clients?
“First and foremost, it means that I’ve taught them; it
gives me a thrill in watching them succeed, but it’s re-
ally all about what it means to them.”
What is the greatest reward you
derive from the accomplishments
of your clients?
“The greatest reward
is knowing I helped
make a difference in
their lives!”
