Youth Basketball Leagues (Grades 1–2) These fun leagues give all an equal opportunity to learn, develop basketball skills, team play and sportsmanship all in a fun atmosphere. Kids gain experience by playing in actual games. There are no practices or individual skill training during the week. Details: On clinic night, coaches evaluate participants, put them onto teams, and give out uniforms and schedules. Coaches make every effort to balance the teams. However, the Park District reserves the right to switch players after the first week of play in order to balance the skill levels on all teams. Special requests for team placement can not be honored. Game times vary based on the number of players/teams. Coaches are on the floor to offer instruction and to officiate. Score is kept, however, standings are not. Kids receive equal playing time by rotating into the game every two minutes. Led by Recreation Athletic Staff. Are textiles from your home no longer being used, like a tablecloth or fabric curtains? Donate them to the Clothing & Textile Collection Bin. Partnering with SWALCO®, Mundelein Park District's collection site offers a convenient and great way to be “green.” Funds generated from collections will help support Mundelein Parks Foundation which provides scholarships for the community. The bin is located at Keith Mione Community Park, on the sidewalk between the lobby entrance and Spray Park. Details on acceptable donations are posted on the bin. SWALCO® Reuse-A-Shoe Mundelein Park District serves as a drop-off location for the SWALCO® Reuse-A- Shoe program. With your “gently-used” shoe donation, things can get a “second life.” Accepted items: Footwear including dress, work, athletic, casual shoes, flip flops, light-up, work boots, hiking boots, etc… Not accepted: Roller blades, ice skates, winter boots. Bins are located in the indoor pool lobby. mundeleinparks.org Winter 2019/Spring 2020 41
