you find around the house!
Here’s what you need:
Toilet paper roll
two plastic bottle tops for feet
paint or colored paper to cover the roll
double stick tape or glue
tape
scissors
hole punch
thread
yarn or string
2 sticks to control marionette
Directions
1. Paint toilet paper roll or cover it with paper.
2. Draw the head of the animal, person or magical
being and cut out Draw on cardstock or an index
card so that it is sturdy.
3. Punch 4 holes in the toilet paper roll two for the
arms and two for the legs.
4. Thread the yarn through both arm holes and make
knots on each end for hands.
5. Have an adult help you to put holes in the plastic
bottle tops. We will use these for the feet.
6. Thread the yarn through the leg holes and each end
through a bottle top and knot.
7. Tape on the head
8. Cross the sticks and wrap tightly with thread and
then tape for extra stability (hot glue would work
too)
9. Tie one end of thread to the yarn near the foot
and the other to the stick that will move that foot.
Repeat with the other leg.
10. Play with your new marionette puppet!
