ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL
Comprised of ten storeys and two blocks ( C and D ), the Royal Victoria Hospital ( RVH ) along with the Montreal Chest Institute ( MCI ) come together to create the Glen site adult hospital . The site has been strategically designed to create space for multi-disciplinary teams , facilitating teamwork amongst our healthcare professionals to encourage more efficient patient care .
Each of our 346 single-patient rooms comes equipped with natural light , air conditioning , a visitor area with a sofa , and a private bathroom to create a positive healing environment . Studies have also proven that single rooms decrease the risk of nosocomial infections from spreading . What ’ s more , the spaciousness of each patient room allows us to bring equipment directly to the bedside , meaning care will come to the patient to the extent possible and reduce the need to transport individuals elsewhere for testing .
Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department ( ED ) is designed to maximize efficiency so patients receive the fastest and highest quality care possible . With its linear , or accordion , design , the ED can expand and contract as patient volumes and staffing require . With 14 exam rooms , two triage rooms , four resuscitation rooms and 33 stretcher rooms , everyone will have a designated space to be examined , meaning no stretchers crowding the hallways . The ED also contains its own Medical Imaging Department and set of trauma elevators to swiftly transport patients to other areas of the hospital . Occupant dix étages et deux blocs ( C et D ), l ’ Hôpital Royal Victoria ( HRV ) et l ’ Institut thoracique de Montréal ( ITM ) s ’ unissent pour créer l ’ hôpital réservé aux adultes au site Glen . Cet hôpital a été conçu stratégiquement , afin de créer l ’ espace suffisant pour permettre à des équipes multidisciplinaires d ’ y intervenir et de faciliter le travail d ’ équipe entre nos professionnels de la santé , dans le but de favoriser une prestation de soins plus efficace .
Chacune de nos 346 chambres individuelles , baignées de lumière naturelle , comporte les caractéristiques suivantes : air climatisé , canapé-lit dans la section réservée aux visiteurs , salle de bains privée , autant d ’ éléments destinés à créer un environnement propice à la guérison . Des études ont aussi démontré que les chambres individuelles réduisent le risque de propagation des infections nosocomiales . g
