OBITUARY
Julian Paul (1960 - 2014)
He sailed wooden Impulses, including the exLeigh Hawke boat 'Leanne Too', and in recent
years a newer bright orange fibreglass boat
'
Satday'. Over this period he was the person to
beat in club races. He won numerous Impulse
class championships at Albert, and was multiple
overall club champion, including for the last
three years.
We have fond memories of Julian.
He
usually sailed in t- shirt and shorts, a brimmed
floppy blue hat, and an old favourite yellow life
jacket. In cooler months he added a jumper and a
slicker, but rarely if ever a wetsuit.
He
Julian Paul, our longest continuous active member,
was critically injured after being hit by a car driven
by a 'hit run' driver while cycling on Nepean Highway in early November. He subsequently died from
his injuries in the Alfred Hospital in early December. Over 20 members, attended his funeral held in
