Much Ado About Messina 7 | Page 9

Interviewer- What do you have against men?

It is not so much that I am against men but that I don’t give them a fiber of my care. Men are not the key to living but they are just a mere extra. For men are not essential for my breathing so I need no reason to worship them as if they were a lord. They say that women who die unmarried are destined to lead the apes to hell, and I suppose that’ll be my fate as well.

Interviewer- Are you surprised that Claudio wants to marry Hero?

For my dear cousin Hero, she is but a rare beauty who has many traits of being a partner. I dare not to curse their marriage, I can only dream they be as happy as I am a woman alone without a dreadful partner, I pray every morning and night that the Lord won’t send me a husband.

Interviewer- To end our interview, the last falling question. Do you think flames will erupt between Benedick and yourself?

On cupid’s behalf I say for we shall erupt with so numerous flames Messina is colored red, but for my soul says for I would never crawl back to him even if he was the last of to crawl to. His affection changes faster than the latest fashions.
