Kristin Hahn-Cover, MD, serves as Medical Director of University of Missouri Health Care’s Office
of Clinical Effectiveness (OCE), Associate Chief of Staff for University Hospital and Clinics, and
Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine. The Office of Clinical
Effectiveness oversees areas of quality improvement, patient safety, infection control, and risk
management for MU Health Care. Dr. Hahn-Cover practices as a hospitalist, rounding with many
learners and residents at University Hospital. She also serves on numerous local committees, and
serves on a national quality committee with the University Health System Consortium. Dr. HahnCover’s clinical excellence can be substantiated by the meritorious accomplishment of receive
the “Best Doctors” recognition five times.
Leslie W. Hall, MD, FACP, serves as Interim Dean of the School of Medicine since November 1,
2012. Since 2008, Dr. Hall has served as Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the School
of Medicine and as Chief Medical Officer for University of Missouri Health Care. Dr. Hall joined
the faculty of the University of Missouri School of Medicine in January 1999 and is Professor of
Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine. He was recognized for his achievements in
quality improvement with the 2007 Distinguished Quality Professional Award of the Missouri
Association for Healthcare Quality. He has clinical expertise as a general medicine hospitalist,
practicing at University Hospitals and Clinics since 1999. Throughout his tenure at MU, Dr.
Hall has been active in medical student and resident educational programs. He served as the
Associate Program Director for the internal medicine residency for five years. He has received
numerous teaching awards, including the Paul C. J. Sun, M.D. Distinguished Faculty Award for
Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and the National Award of Excellence in Teaching from the
Society of Hospital Medicine.
Linda A. Headrick, MD, MS, is Helen Mae Spiese Distinguished Faculty Scholar, Senior Associate
Dean for Education and Faculty Development, and Professor of Medicine at the School of
Medicine. Her academic work has focused on quality improvement in health care and health
professional education, with an emphasis on preparing new health professionals to improve care
as part of their daily practice. Dr. Headrick received her A.B. in Chemistry at the University of
Missouri-Columbia, M.D. at Stanford University and M.S. in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Case
Western Reserve University.
Jamal Ibdah, MD, PhD, is Senior Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Medicine, Medical
Pharmacology and Physiology, Raymond E. and Vaona H. Peck Chair, and Director of the Division
of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Ibdah currently serves on the Editorial Board of World
Journal of Gastroenterology and is a Senior Editor for the Journal of Cardio Metabolic Syndrome.
Dr. Ibdah has served as ad hoc member on the hepatobiliary pathophysiology (HBPP) NIH
study section and on several NIH special emphasis panels in clinical research; he is currently a
permanent charter member of the NCRR Clinical Research Review Committee.
Stevan P. Whitt, MD, FACP, serves as Chief Medical Officer of the University of Missouri Health
System and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs in the MU School of Medicine since
November 1, 2012. Dr. Whitt, a critical care specialist at University Hospital, received his M.D.
degree from MU in 1994. He completed a residency in internal medicine in and fellowships in
infectious diseases and critical care medicine, all at the MU School of Medicine. He is boardcertified in neurocritical care, as well. An Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Divisions
of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Environmental Medicine, and Infectious Disease, Dr.
Whitt also serves as Director of the Organ Donation Team for the University of Missouri Health
System. Dr. Whitt has received numerous honors and awards during his tenure at the School of
Medicine, including the “Outstanding Faculty Teacher” award in 2011-2012, 2009-2010, 20082009, 2007-2008, 2006-2007, 2005-2006 and 2002-2003.
