Connect with me , IdaRose Sylvester , at idarose @ siliconvalleylink . com if you wish to attend !
Mountain View has always been a diverse community , and one that strives to grow and learn , but over the years , discrimination has and continues to exist . This event specifically explores the history of racism in housing and will bring to light the history of exclusion in Mountain View . Part presentation , part interactive discussion among participants , this will be a lively , informative evening . You will see research about Mountain View ’ s demographic and housing history , presented in an engaging , interactive format . We are thrilled to include stories from current and former community members spanning a 60 + year period of time , and you will hear directly from some of the people we interviewed , live , at the event . And there will be time for community discussion . Come prepared to learn , be moved , and be challenged to think of Mountain View , and its future , in new ways !
Editors Note : This is the same event announced in our previous newsletter as taking place on May 19 . The date was changed after the previous newsletter went to press . Apologies for any confusion and hope to see you on July 26 !
