David Javaheri , Founder and CEO of Direct iT , is no stranger to hard work . He emigrated from Iran to the U . S . at 16 with no money and no high school diploma . Upon passing a high school equivalency test , he was accepted into Northeastern University , where he worked 120 hours / week as a proctor to pay for his education . Many times he didn ’ t have enough money for food , but he was determined to finish his degree to build a better life and says , “ I wasn ’ t going to let money be my excuse .”

Upon graduating from college with degrees in computer science , math and engineering , he built a successful hardware and networking company from the ground up and then sold it . He then started his second tech business where he worked with medium and large enterprises . Working with large enterprises made him keenly aware of the underserved niche in the small to mid-sized business ( SMB ) market , so he started Direct iT , a security company that sells enterprise-grade solutions and bank-level security to SMBs . Assembling a team of top engineers from NASA , Harvard , Fidelity and MIT , he designed and launched BlueBox™ , a patented small-business network management tool that simplified overpriced , overcomplex technology solutions for small businesses . But despite all his hard work and success , his revenue at Direct iT stalled at $ 2 million for eight years . David who was the 2022 Technology Marketing Toolkit ( TMT ) Better-Your-Best contest winner , shared with MSP Success what allowed him to finally break through and skyrocket his business by more than 300 percent .
