From a Humble Beginning to a Thriving Best-In-Class MSP and Winner of the MSP Industry ' s Top Award

We’ re all familiar with the adage,“ Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

Julio Lopez, CEO and founder of IT for
Education, took that to heart— perfecting proven growth strategies first, then adding his own innovations. He credits this concept with his tremendous success since joining TMT. By copying techniques he learned working for various industry experts, then adapting them to best suit his target market of K-12 education, he’ s been able to scale his MSP to $ 6.5 million— more than he ever thought possible.
In recognition of his achievements, his MSP peers voted him the winner of TMT’ s annual Better Your Best Contest at the 2025 IT Sales and Marketing Boot Camp in April. As the winner, he became the TMT spokesperson of the year and was awarded a brand-new Tesla Cybertruck— which he promptly gifted to his nephew and marketing manager, Frank Garcia!
This achievement comes on the heels of winning a 2024 MSP Titans of the Industry Award in the education category.
Lopez’ s dynamic presentation to his peers at Boot Camp centered on one simple, yet effective, message:“ Imitate, then innovate.”
Lopez Trusted the Process
In 2021, Lopez joined the TMT peer group with the intention of learning from top MSP peers how to scale his business.
Lopez knew at the time that he needed to change his strategy.“ I remember constantly feeling overworked and underpaid,” he said.“ I felt unappreciated by clients and employees. It felt impossible to disconnect from work. Going on vacation always included my laptop, and I’ d come to conferences like this one and be taking phone calls in the hallway. I was desperate; something had to change.”
