Here at CASY and MSCCN, our summer started off with reaching an amazing milestone. We have assisted over 50,000 transitioning veterans, spouses and their families in realizing, acting upon, and achieving their career goals, resulting in high-paying, fulfilling careers! The impact that this milestone has can be felt not only in the lives of those who have been touched firsthand but also in the form of hope for those who have yet to find their place in the civilian world. It is important that we celebrate these milestones, not because of notoriety, but because of that same hope. Hope that with each success story grows stronger and more present, hope that encourages and motivates, and hope that being “military-affiliated” will be a concern of the past for employers all over the world.
In order to fully appreciate the impact that this milestone has on our community, we must look back and understand why and how CASY and MSCCN came to be. CASY originated in late 2010 out of a growing need for resources to reintegrate Veterans into careers. It was launched from MSCCN, using concepts developed by the organization in 2004, when our military was going through sequences of long deployments and stop-loss. Spouses weren’t always on or near a base with access to employment assistance supported by military programs. Fast-forward a few years, once stop loss ended and service members returned home, there was a large influx of Veterans and reservists seeking employment assistance as well, in non-traditional locations. The methods used to help spouses were even more effective in helping Veterans and soon the organization had more Veterans than spouses.

“At the Call of Duty Endowment, we couldn’t be more proud of CASY and MSCCN’s remarkable work that got them to this momentous milestone - it’s the
equivalent of filling the Yankee Stadium to capacity, with veterans who
have meaningful, well-compensated employment. Now, add in the
family members who have benefited from this financial stability.
It’s an incredible achievement and unmatched impact!”
Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director for Call of Duty Endowment
