Thai encouraged me to continue to pursue work, to understand there are supports for military spouses who want to work, and to think about stepping outside of my normal work box and consider other possible employment options.
After reaching out to a local school, where embassy children attend, I made a positive connection with the principal. After emailing back and forth for a few weeks and an interview via Skype, I have landed a teaching job. I am very excited to be teaching a combination 4th-5th grade classroom. This classroom will consist of both local students and embassy children. Although the position is not in special education, I am still thrilled about the opportunity to teach while we are in Africa!
