Please tell us a little bit about who you are professionally.
I was born and raised in Romania. I obtained a Bachelor’s in Manufacturing Technology, (BS) Degree, JUN 1999, from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Galway, Ireland, a Bachelor’s In Systems Engineering, (BS) Degree, JUN 2000, Technical University of Cluj, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Master’s In Systems Engineering, (MA) Degree, JUN 2000, Technical University of Cluj, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and a Master’s In Business Administration, (MA) Degree, JUN 2002, Technical University of Cluj, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
My career in business and teaching prior to joining CASY & MSCCN prepared me for my current position as the Volunteer Program Manager for the Career Corps Volunteer Program where I help Career Corps members meet program and department objectives, keep career time and skills sets current, expand knowledge and skills sets, and help them achieve the ultimate goal of finding a job.
Joining CASY & MSCCN and being part of these two great organizations allows me to meet and work with skilled people who support me in my career and help me grow professionally. It has made me become a better person both in my professional and personal life and also gave me the opportunity to give back to the military community.
What inspires you to do the work you do?
The thought that I can make a difference in somebody’s life is the inspiration I need to wake up every morning and turn on my computer and start looking for solutions on how to improve our Career Corps Volunteer Program. I understand the struggles that spouses (especially foreign spouses) and families face during long deployments, new commands, and different periods of transition.
How do you define success? Please tell us about one success of which you are particularly proud.
I think there are different ways of defining success. I personally define success as both a personal and professional success and as team success.
