Getting Started with CASY Support

Questionnaires also give companies the chance to have you, as the applicant, rate your skills and qualifications before they speak with you for an interview.

If you rate yourself as an “expert” in a particular skill, ensure your resume adequately quantifies the results you are claiming. You always want your resume to match the answer you are providing. If you are selecting the standard of “expert,” where in your resume does it show skills that would be rated at the “expert” level?

These types of assessments can be hard in two ways: first, those who feel there’s always room for growth can under represent valuable experiences; second, others may over rate their experience feeling they don’t need to elaborate further on skills or accomplishments.

It can be overwhelming to think the company is assessing your fit before you ever speak to the hiring manager, but it is important to remember this:

Remain honest, don’t be thrown off by thinking you are being “tested.

Just like the company wants to make sure you are a good fit for the company, you also want to make sure the company is a good fit for you, and these questionnaires can help you get a feel for the company.

Although questionnaires can be long and sometimes seem irrelevant to the position, remember to take your time, answer questions honestly, and make sure they match the qualifications detailed on your resume.

Successfully completing the online questionnaire can help you get to the interview that will eventually turn into the words "you are hired."
