AUSA MILITARY FAMILY FORUM
On April 9th, the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) held the first Military Family Forum at the Sheridan Waikiki, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The event featured a keynote address from Erin Voirol, Executive Director of MSCCN, and several additional Military Spouse vignette speakers who presented on Military Spouse Employment. Each speaker recanted the trials and triumphs associated with remaining employed while moving in the military community.
Erin Voirol’s poignant presentation addressed the importance of networking and being flexible in the journey that military life takes you on. Erin reflected on the many roads she traveled and how a chance meeting led her to her new passion of helping other military candidates in their career transitions. “I was incredibly lucky to meet amazing military spouse mentors who guided me and taught me information like utilizing ACS, learning everything you can, and networking. They taught me to build my village, believe me there is a whole village of mentors behind me!”
