In January 2016, the Call of Duty Endowment (“the Endowment”) continued their support of Veterans by awarding CASY with financial support in the amount of $1.4 million. 2016 marks the fourth consecutive year of the Endowment’s support of CASY and its mission. The Endowment first recognized CASY in 2013 as a Seal of Distinction winner.
The Endowment is a private nonprofit foundation that supports best-in-class non-profit organizations that place former service members in rewarding careers while raising awareness of the value Veterans bring to the civilian workplace. The Endowment created the Seal of Distinction award in 2013 to highlight nonprofit organizations that have proven their ability to place Veterans in high quality careers effectively and efficiently. To date, the Endowment has provided over $21 million to non-profits to support Veteran hiring, and has funded the placement of over 29,000 Veterans into meaningful jobs.
The Endowment vets all awardees through a rigorous assessment, which is independently evaluated pro bono by Deloitte. Among an extensive criteria, Deloitte’s evaluation assesses potential awardees’ cost per hire, quality of placements made, financial strength, and potential for long-term growth.
CASY’s 2016 audit was completed at the end of October, and CASY received stellar results in November. Founder
and President Deb Kloeppel described the audit results, stating, “We are excited to announce a perfect assessment. During a week-long review of CASY's efficiency as a program and financial stewardship, as well as transparency in all that we do as a staff, Board of Directors and Founders and Executive Management—we rated perfectly. We are both honored and humbled.”
The Call of Duty Endowment’s financial support of CASY gives us the dollars to get vets back to work. The assessment and the analysis that they provide legitimizes the work we do, and ensures us that we are providing the best possible and most fiscally responsible services to our job seekers. We at CASY are excited to continue working with the Call of Duty Endowment to achieve our shared mission of putting Veterans into meaningful jobs in 2017 and beyond.
