The money, time, and skills of Boeing and its people are constantly at work on behalf of our military and veterans in the communities in which they live and work. We create strategic partnerships with many leading nonprofit organizations.
One area of strong focus is with organizations that help veterans and their families transition the skills they’ve developed in the military into their new communities and civilian careers. MSCCN does this by focusing on the military spouse -- providing assistance and services needed to help them in job placement.
CASY & MSCCN: You, personally, have worked closely with MSCCN, both providing guidance and sitting on the Board of Directors. What has motivated you to continue working with MSCCN?
Conrad: After serving 24 years in the United States Navy, I have the experience of retiring from active duty and having to find employment. I am motivated by the MSCCN mission because the military is all about family, and so is MSCCN. Also, I am inspired by the leadership in Dan and Deb Kloeppel, the Board members I serve with, and the entire MSCCN staff that are so committed to accomplishing the mission in a way that is unmatched by any other non-profit organization. I could not be more proud to be associated with such a selfless and devoted organization.
CASY & MSCCN: Why should other companies care about military spouse employment?
Conrad: Veterans and their families have served our nation with pride, and we at The Boeing Company recognize that they have so much to contribute even after their service has ended. Their leadership skills, global experience and commitment to serving something bigger than themselves are attributes
we greatly respect and value
in prospective employees, and
I believe other companies feel the same way. We can never do too much for our Veterans and their families.
