Get Your Marketing Materials Together. Update your resume, LinkedIn® profile, and other marketing materials to make sure they reflect your applicable experiences and current goals.

You need to decide how you can best present yourself to make the most of the skills that you have to offer.

Get Vocal. Tell your network what you are looking for. Reach out to friends in the area to see if they have any leads. Participate in professional conversations online and let it be known

that you are actively seeking work. (This is also a great way to learn about the current market in your area and field.)

Get Out There. Apply for jobs. Attend hiring events. Get your resume into hiring managers’ and recruiters’ hands.

Breathe and Step Forward. If you’ve put your job search on hold during the summer months, now’s the time to get started so that you are ready to search when fall arrives. It’s tempting to let summer roll into fall, but remember, winter is coming. If you want a job before the holidays, you have to be prepared to search soon.

Remember—

If you need support, a CASY & MSCCN Employment Specialist can help you get ready for your job search.
