LAST, talking about money is HARD, but you have to do it. My spouse was partially responsible for my credit score dropping. Because my name was on a credit card my spouse used and had a larger balance, it was showing on my credit score. We paid that card off and made a pact to keep that one paid off. I also didn’t know that NOT borrowing money would affect me; talking to my bank REALLY helped me take a few easy measures to improve my score FAST! Nearly six months later, my credit score is back in the ‘good’ range, without any real disruption to our finances. We didn’t do anything extreme, nor did we feel deprived.

BUT, perhaps most importantly, our credit scores no longer suprise us! When a new opportunity comes along, we know that our debt won't affect our careers!
