My Life
Prior to working on AMS I was a member of 4624 Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force ; a reservist unit supporting the movements trade on a part time basis , whilst working in my civilian role as a Social Media Executive .
Through my time on 4624 I was trained to the same level as a regular mover , receiving my Basic Movements Training qualification .
In July 2019 I took up an 18-month Full Time Reserve Service contract on AMS , where I currently work . Supported by both the reserve and regular squadrons , I am now applying to become a regular serving member of 1AMW and continue my career as a mover .
Future Plans
In the future , I ’ d like to experience a different side of the job and plan to undertake a Mobility tour involving the support of aircraft like Typhoon and F35 fast jets , P-8 Poseidon at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland , or ISTAR aircraft at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire . Here I ’ d be part of a team enabling the aircraft to deploy around the world . I ’ d also like to work in a planning role where I ’ d be responsible for designing , co-ordinating and executing the support network for operations to deploy , sustain and recover globally , using all available assets .
