COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
The Mount Carmel West transformation is designed as a shared
ownership model in which Mount Carmel and various external
partners share responsibility for leadership and investment.
We’ve known from the start that it is going to take the whole community to achieve the shared
vision for the Mount Carmel West campus. Beginning in January 2016, we gathered input from more
than 100 Mount Carmel colleagues and members of the community, representing a wide variety of
interests and viewpoints.
Input and Support

revitalization (see below). Through this process, the broader community developed the shared

Themes
These themes require shared leadership
between Mount Carmel and community
partner(s). Many of these themes
involve current Mount Carmel space or
programming but require heavy input or
support from external partners. Because expertise for these
themes exists with community
partner(s), a community lead is
required with Mount Carmel in a
supportive role.
