WHAT DO INTERMENTS INVOLVE?
A funeral director will typically coordinate a casket or natural burial with Mount Auburn on a family’ s behalf. Families may contact the Cemetery directly to arrange for a cremation burial or niche opening. Our staff will assist with scheduling the service, greeting the funeral guests at our main entrance and leading them in procession to the burial site.
Interment fees include the opening of the grave, crypt or niche; handling the casket, urn, or other container; use of a lowering device( for body burials); replacement of ground cover following the burial; and the permanent recording of the burial in our records.
