CREMATION
Since 1900, Mount Auburn Cemetery has provided cremation services to the Greater Boston area, whether or not a cremation burial is intended at Mount Auburn. Our Crematory is housed in a peaceful and attractive setting adjacent to Bigelow Chapel, and can accommodate families for witness cremations if they wish to be present at the start of the cremation process. All cremations are carried out in accordance with the highest standards and with dignity and care.
Our cremation service fee includes the packaging of the remains in a temporary container and the issuance of a cremation certificate. Mount Auburn does not provide transportation services, which may be obtained through a funeral director.
We also offer a range of urns that can be purchased in person or online.
