Camp Misty Mount consists of 29 historic cabins constructed in 1937 by the WPA. The camp host is housed in one of the historic furnished cabins with two bedrooms( 4 single beds), living room, kitchen, bathroom, small washer and dryer, window air conditioner and a working fireplace. The host is expected to help with vehicle registration, check visitors in and out, patrol the camp and assist with cleaning cabins and fire circles. A Dark Sky Park, Chaco Culture has a host opening for its 29- site Gallo Campground. The host site has electric, water, and sewage hookups and can handle a trailer or RV of up to 35 feet. The host is required to greet, check their registration and inform campers of the rules. Hosts are expected to commit to 2 months. The historical park is in an isolated location in the high desert with the nearest commercial facilities a 75-mile drive. Contact

Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve, New Mexico( 4 / 1 / 2026 to 10 / 31 / 26)
Great Sand Dunes has openings for individuals or couples to volunteer as hosts at Pinon Flats Campground. The host campsite includes water, sewer and electric hookups. The campground has 88 sites, only two of which have hookups. Hosts are expected to work 40 hours per week( 4 days on, 3 days off) greeting campers, taking regular campground walks, removing trash, and monitoring campground occupancy.
