Colquitt County eyes infrastructure improvements

The Colquitt County Board of Commissioners is looking forward to some of the “ challenges ” that are coming in 2022 . “ There ’ s a lot of ways to find solutions to problems you aren ’ t even aware of yet ,” County Administrator Chas Cannon told The Scene .

County leadership is all about long term goals , Cannon said .
“ We have to always be looking forward . We all like to try to plan as far ahead as we can .”
The CCBoC will begin the new year with its annual retreat . During the retreat , Cannon hopes to cover many topics with the board including handling per diem for employees .
“ We need to handle how we go about reimbursing employees who take the trips to train outside of the county ,” Cannon said . “ Another thing we will need to handle is our TSPLOST .”
The Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax is described by Cannon as a “ penny sales tax specifically to resurface county roads .”
