that someone else ’ s son or daughter took her son ’ s place . She feels the need to continue her promise that she made over 19 years ago to keep sending packages until all our troops are back home .
Pat does not consider herself a hero , but those that are serving and have served are the true heroes . She is honored and proud to serve those that serve us . She does this mission from her heart , and not for recognition . God has been her light throughout this journey and He has been there with her from day one and will be as she passionately continues on this amazing journey in her life and mission .
Pat Garlick states , I am just an ordinary person that dreamed of making a soldier ’ s deployment a little easier and happier through the letters and packages that I send with the help of people like you . God has give me a gift that I cherish and am so blessed to be able to share it . You never know whose life you may change forever . A letter or a package may be the only one that a soldier may get through his / her deployment . Your love , kindness and support may be all it takes to help that soldier make it through their deployment . It is a passion of mine to be able to help and serve others who are serving our great country . I have spent thousands of hours to help our service people and have sent thousands of packages . It is not the amount of packages that I have sent , but it is the love that is wrapped inside , and the prayers that have been sent with them . I hope that more people will get involved in this mission in our community and the surrounding neighborhoods . I so appreciate the support and dedication that my husband provides . As long as the war continues , I will continue to serve those who are fighting for our freedom . My motto is and will always be ‘ Proud To Serve Those Who Serve Us ’.”
Eric stated , “ I am honored to be a part of this organization that is making such a difference in the lives of our deployed military personnel . Anything that we can do here at home like sending a letter and package to our troops in a war zone will make them feel appreciated .”
Pat and Eric were raised in Michigan and moved to Illinois in 1992 with their children Rachel , Ryan and Evan . And in 2022 , they moved to Moultrie , Georgia . In retirement , Pat lives her life as a dedicated wife , mother and grandmother , as well as managing Pride Packages and serving as a volunteer at the Storehouse Thrift Store , a mission of Heritage Church in Moultrie .
