Ashlee Parrish Brown shares her wedding vision
Photography by Wesley Ann Rice
From the very beginning , stepping into the realm of wedding planning as a bride feels like entering a whirlwind of emotions , expectations , celebrations , and the realization that time truly does fly by when you are having fun . For Burton and I , the vision of our wedding day consisted of close family and friends , good music , local vendors , and a laid-back yet polished atmosphere .
At the heart of our vision was embracing local vendors . Burton and I both have been profoundly impacted by being raised around our families ’ respective small businesses , and it was important to us to infuse our special day with the authentic charm of our community . Each of our vendors contributed a unique touch that lent our wedding day an irreplaceable sense of authenticity . The first vendor that has deeply touched our wedding planning process was Griner Jewelry . The Griner family have played an integral part in my life , and to have my engagement ring and bands made by them means more to me than words can describe . In fact , together with Burton , they pulled off the surprise of the century for me when it came to our engagement . I worked right next to Darrell as he set the diamond in my engagement ring none the wiser . Amy also had me try the ring on to get my opinion on the style and fit under the guise of it being for a customer , again I was none the wiser .
Ensuring our guests felt welcomed was important to us , and we aimed to craft an ambiance that exuded ease yet radiated refinement , where every guest felt comfortable . Sundown Farms Plantation , our chosen venue , encapsulated our vision flawlessly . We loved that through each step of the planning process , we received the personalized attention and care you receive only when working with locally sourced vendors . Benji and Jenna Alderman have truly created a picturesque venue that stole our hearts from the first time we set foot on the property .
Our photographer , Wesley Ann Rice , was central to immortalizing our wedding day . Drawn to her distinctive style , I was captivated by her departure from conventional poses in favor of a more candid , artistic approach . From our initial meeting , Wesley
