The Arts Center of Moultrie is a creative cultural resource that makes quality visual and performing art available to a diverse population. The Arts Center provides engaging arts education for children and adults, acts as a steward of permanent collections, and maintains a landmark facility that enriches the whole community.
The Kaleidoscope Children’ s Museum is an exciting new hands-on learning space at the Arts Center of Moultrie! Designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and exploration, this interactive museum invites children of all ages to discover the magic of art, science, and imaginative play.
Exhibits are free and open to the public. The William Frank McCall Gallery houses the center’ s permanent collection of works on paper by 19th and 20th century American artists. Exhibits in the Vereen Gallery change quarterly with local and visiting artists.
The historic building provides unique and beautiful spaces to rent for wedding receptions, class reunions and meetings. The ballroom is the largest and one of the most popular spaces at the Arts Center which includes a full kitchen and solarium. Hosts can also choose the Sculpture Garden for a pleasant outdoor evening.
There are a variety of membership levels to accommodate individual budgets allowing everyone to be informed and involved. The tax-deductible membership keeps patrons informed of the many art openings, theater events, musical performances and classes throughout the year. To learn how to become a member of the

Freckles Skate Center 2724 First Ave. S. E.( 229) 985-8151 Hours: Fridays 7 p. m.-11 p. m.; Saturday 11 a. m.-4 p. m. and 7 p. m.-11 p. m.
$ 3 to rent skates on Friday or Saturday night.
Skates included with admission on Saturday afternoons. $ 5 to rent roller blades anytime. Saturday from 11 a. m.-4 p. m. lunch tickets are $ 3. Friday and Saturday night admission is $ 8; Saturday afternoon is $ 9 with a $ 5 optional lunch ticket.
Freckles offers public skating sessions as well as private party bookings: $ 250 for up to 50 guests for 2 hours.

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Library moved to its current location, 204 Fifth St. S. E., in 1965. In 1988, the Ellen Payne Odom Genealogy Library opened at the same location. Renovations completed in January 2019 included a revamped interior, a new children’ s library, expanded technology, new computer labs, study rooms and more. The hours of operation for the main library are:
• 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. Monday and Wednesday.
• 10 a. m. to 8 p. m. on Tuesday.
• 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. on Friday.
• 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. on Saturday.
The Odom Genealogy Library is open:
• 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. Tuesday through Thursday
• 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. on Friday.
• 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. on Saturday.
The Doerun Municipal Library is located at 185 N. Freeman St. Its hours are 2 p. m. to 6 p. m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. on Wednesday.
The library’ s bookmobile operates year-round. The route expands during the summer.
