The Georgia Forestry Commission aims to promote healthy and abundant forest that support a robust industry while providing social, environmental, and financial benefits to all of Georgia. Their mission is to provide leadership, service, and education in the protection and conservation of Georgia’ s forest resources. The local branch of the GAFC provides information about regional forestry, fire management, forest health, forest inventory and analysis, forest stewardship, urban and community forestry, and water quality. One of their main duties is assisting with prescribed fires and installing fire breaks for the land-owners of Colquitt County. Landowners with questions about prescribed fire or stewardship are welcome to give them a call.

The Sunbelt Agricultural Expo is an agricultural-based trade show held at Spence Field in Moultrie, Ga. Known as“ North America’ s Premier Farm Show”® the annual event has more than 1,200 exhibitors showcasing the latest in farming technology. The Expo brings together all segments of agribusiness including farmers, educators, policy-makers, ag enthusiasts and families.
The Sunbelt Ag Exposition will celebrate its 47th anniversary show Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 14-16, 2025. Admission at the gate is $ 15 per person per day. Advanced and discount tickets can be purchased online. The show site is four miles southeast of Moultrie on Highway 133.
