Riding a snowmobile is just like riding a bike.
But much bloody colder!
Our people in your country are telling us
that Halvarssons motorcycle clothing is
becoming quite well known down there.
We are rather chuffed, as we think you say.
But up here in Sweden, we are just as
well known for the clothing we make for
snowmobiling.
You see, with so much snow around in the
winter, we have to put our bikes away in the
garage. Instead, to get around, and sometimes
just to have fun, we ride snowmobiles.
Even in the UK, you will have heard of the
wind chill factor (WCI= 10√v + 10.5).(33-Ta),
which basically predicts how chilly you will
feel as cold air passes over the body. Up here
it’s a big deal.
At 60mph, when the temperature is -30°C,
you can really notice the cold. With your
famous British senses of humour, you call
this feeling Brass Monkeys.
It’s these conditions that might explain why
we here at Halvarssons have become quite
expert at keeping riders warm and dry.
If you become wet, you’re going to get

cold, so we use an excellent waterproof
membrane called Dryway Plus. For warmth,
we use systems like Outlast and Thinsulate.
In Sweden, maintaining body temperatures is
not just about comfort. It can mean the difference
between arriving at your destination, and not
arriving. And here at Halvarssons, we always
want our customers to get home safely.
All we can say is that if our clothing
works up here in the Land of the Midnight
Sun, we believe it should be up to the job
where you guys live.
