WHAT WE DO: SOME RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS 61 new Yamaha Motor AG100 motorcycles were delivered to Riders For Health in The Gambia in 2025, allowing healthcare workers to reach the most isolated and remote families and communities, quickly, safely and reliably. We undertook mechanic and rider training in Lesotho, with courses for both health workers new to motorcycle riding and refresher training for sample transport motorcycle couriers and established health care professionals, nurses, clinicians, midwives, public health officers. We also had train-the-trainer courses to enable local people to become fully competent motorcycle rider trainers.
We were able to provide an engine hoist for the maintenance of ambulances in Nigeria, and The Gambia programme successfully completed a digital audit of their operations, enabling increased efficiency while also producing an impact report, published in April of 2025. Their audit is now a model for other Riders For Health teams to follow.
