In some ways, Alex’ s job was simpler in 2025; he was on the year-old GP24. While Ducati’ s factory riders worked to develop their machine, Alex’ s Gresini team only had to worry about set-up tweaks. This year he has a full factory spec Desmosedici at his disposal. And as witnessed in the first three rounds, it is still far from the finished article.
“ I think we’ ve come back to our base that we were using last year,” he said in Austin.“ We went one way in Thailand and also in Brazil that was not the correct one, so on Sunday we went back and the feeling was quite good.”
Working on the GP26’ s performance under braking is now a priority.“ I need also to adapt my riding style in that point,” he said.“ Last year it was a really strong point of the bike, and this year it looks like we lost a little bit( there).( It’ s) Not frustrating, no. I’ m more eager to keep working and, and more motivated than ever to make the step, because I feel it’ s close.”
