Der jüngere der Espargaro-Brüder fuhr 2006 in der Klasse bis 125ccm und sorgte mit einem sechsten Platz in seinem erst siebten Rennen schon für Aufregung . Nach vier Jahren in der kleinsten Klasse , wechselte er 2011 in die Moto2™ und sicherte sich dort 2013 den Weltmeister- Titel . Dafür wurde er mit einem Platz im Tech 3 Yamaha Team in der MotoGP™ belohnt . 2017 wechselte er ins KTM Werksteam und entwickelte dort bis 2019 die RC16 zu einem Spitzenmotorrad und holte regelmäßige Top-Ten-Platzierungen . 2020 holte der Katalane dann fünf Podeste und zwei Pole-Positions und den fünften Gesamtrang . 2021 wechselte Espargaro ins Repsol Honda Team . Zunächst begann dieses Abenteuer mit einigen Schwierigkeiten , doch im letzten Saisondrittel fand er seinen Speed und holte sich noch ein Podest . 2022 kämpft er wieder für das Honda-Werksteam um Punkte und Podeste .

The younger Espargaro brother shot to prominence with a sixth place in just his seventh race in the 125 class in 2006 . After four seasons in the junior category , he graduated to Moto2™ in 2011 , and won the class in 2013 . A seat in MotoGP™ with Tech 3 Yamaha was just reward . But a decision to move to KTM in 2017 bore fruit . Espargaro had turned the RC16 into a regular top ten challenger by 2019 . It got better : the Catalan scored five podiums and two pole positions to finish fifth overall in 2020 . He moved to Repsol Honda in 2021 and despite a tough start , he found his feet in the final third on the season , when he scored a podium in Emilia Romagna . A new Honda should see him bag more podiums in 2022 .
