weekend in Barcelona , which led to him dropping to fourth overall . However , the tight curves of the Sachsenring have always been difficult for Ducati .
Which means Joan Mir , fifth overall , and Maverick Viñales , sixth , could both be in the running . Mir has been a model of consistency all season , finishing inside the top seven in each race he has finished . Viñales has been his usual frustrating self , but a crew chief change in Barcelona could give him some fresh impetus for this weekend . Viñales ’ last three results in Germany have been fourth , third and second .
And what of Miguel Oliveira and KTM ? The Portuguese rider was sensational in Barcelona , notching up his third win in the premier class , and KTM ’ s first of the season . He should be a contender . Likewise , we can never rule out Marc Marquez , who is returning to fitness . The Catalan has never lost a MotoGP™ race in Germany , and has a winning streak at the track that incredibly goes all the way back to 2010 !
