After a disastrous 2023 , when it finished last in the Constructor ’ s Championship , Honda has upped its efforts considerably over the winter months . At the Sepang test there were more technicians present , and testing showed HRC is taking the game seriously again . “ We could see many new parts , a lot of changes inside the team , inside of Honda , and it ’ s clear they want to move on from this situation ,” said lead rider Joan Mir .
For 2024 , the RC213V was completely redesigned . The bike is much lighter than last year ’ s model . Yet is soon became clear it was not the correct direction to take , as it struggled to turn while last year ’ s huge deficit – acceleration – remained . It means HRC engineers are currently working furiously behind the scenes to bring another new bike for the autumn of this season , making the next race difficult .
Dopo un 2023 allarmante , in cui si è classificata all ’ ultimo posto fra i costruttori , Honda ha aumentato gli sforzi per recuperare . Sul fronte delle risorse umane , nei test pre campionato di Sepang era presente un maggior numero di tecnici . HRC sembra essere determinata : “ Sono arrivate molte nuove parti , con cambiamenti all ’ interno del team e anche della Honda ”, ha spiegato il pilota Joan Mir . “ La volontà di superare la situazione attuale è evidente ”.
Per il 2024 , la RC213V è stata completamente riprogettata . La moto si presenta più leggera rispetto alla precedente , ma ciò non ha risolto i problemi . In curva fatica a ‘ girare ’, senza radicali miglioramenti in accelerazione , l ’ area più critica già dal 2023 . Il lavoro degli ingegneri HRC sembra diretto verso una nuova moto da far esordire nel prossimo autunno . Quanto al presente , la situazione appare difficile .
