The Majorcan has the unenviable job of being team-mate to Acosta this year , his second season in the premier class . Yet his experience of 2022 , when he won the Moto2™ World Championship with his younger compatriot in his team , will be useful experience to call on . After a promising rookie year , when he scored five top ten finishes and finished 17th overall , Fernandez has struggled to get comfortable on the latest KTM RC16 and knows he ’ ll need to find his form quickly , and improve his qualifying – last year ’ s big weakness – to match his young team-mate through the year . But it ’ s been a struggle in the early races for the Spaniard .
