“ I think Davide( Brivio – current Team Manager) made a super good crew. If you saw the team two years ago, it was quite difficult to see the people happy. And now everybody is happy. Everybody works in the same way. We know that still Ducati has great riders. But we arrived at our best level, and still I don’ t have everything under control with this bike but we are on the way to get what I want.”
Asked to pick one reason behind Aprilia’ s surge in 2026, which could yet take them to the MotoGP™ Rider and Constructor’ s titles for the first time, Fernandez pointed to the work done by Technical Director Fabiano Sterlacchini, who joined at the close of 2024.
“ Since Fabiano come to Aprilia the situation is a little different. He started to work on the small details. The small problem that we had when I came to Aprilia, he started to find a solution so maybe there was the compromise. Now I think it’ s a super easy bike to manage. I remember two years ago to manage the tyre was quite difficult. I think Fabiano made this difference in the small details.”
