There have been certain ups and downs. But Raul Fernandez is en route to completing a best ever MotoGP™ season. The Spaniard has been at his most complete in 2026, his fifth season in motorcycle racing’ s premier class.
A rider that has witnessed Aprilia’ s rise first hand since 2023, Fernandez built on a fine end to last season by scoring five podiums, including one convincing win at Silverstone, in the first 17 races. Plus, MotoGP™ Sprint wins came at Mugello and Assen, showing that on his day, Fernandez has been a front runner.
“ After 2024 with too many problems, the bike was not super competitive,” he said.“ We made a really nice job together. I think the best thing for us was try to stay here and not have too many changes because in 2027 almost everything will be new. I am very happy.”
“ I feel good with the bike. I think we started the season so well. Now I think I am a better rider because in the difficult moment I feel very calm on the box, and it means that everybody works better.
“( I said from the start) Our goal has to be in top eight during all the year. In the difficult race we have to be there. If we have the possibility, of course I will try. I will be happy. If not, I will try for sure.
