Joan Mir’ s rise gathered momentum through the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup before a strong JuniorGP campaign and an impressive Grand Prix debut. A full time move to Moto3™ followed in 2016, where Rookie of the Year honours and a first victory set the tone. The breakthrough arrived in 2017. Ten wins delivered a dominant Moto3™ World Championship and confirmed Mir as one of the sport’ s standout young talents. A step into Moto2™ in 2018 brought podium finishes and further Rookie of the Year recognition, paving the way for a rapid promotion to MotoGP™ with Suzuki. After a solid debut season, 2020 proved decisive. Consistency, intelligent race management and a maiden MotoGP™ victory at the European Grand Prix sealed the World Championship. A podium filled 2021 delivered third overall, but Suzuki’ s exit halted momentum. A move to Honda proved challenging, though progress returned in 2025 with two podiums. Now entering his fourth season with HRC, Mir targets a full return to the front in 2026.
Nel 2016 passa al Mondiale col team Leopard ed è rookie of the year, anche grazie a una vittoria nel GP d’ Austria. Nel 2017 mantiene gli stessi colori, facendo mambassa: dieci i successi che gli hanno garantito il titolo Mondiale della classe cadetta. Passa quindi alla Moto2: sale sul podio in più di un’ occasione ed è il debuttante dell’ anno. Nel 2019 viene catapultato nella classe regina. Nel 2020 inizia così così, ma poi si riprende e mette tutti in riga: veloce e costante, si rilancia nella corsa al titolo e a fine stagione centra il bersaglio grosso a suon di podi e con una vittoria. Nel 2023 passa al team Repsol Honda e affronta un’ altra stagione travagliata, un quinto posto in India come miglior risultato. Il 2024 è ancora più complicato, ma nel 2025 le cose migliorano e arrivano due podi, anche se affiancati da 13 ritiri domenicali. Il margine di crescita c’ è e il 2026 per lo spagnolo sarà la quarta stagione in Honda. Quella giusta per puntare in alto?
