After 2023 started with incredible glory as he won at COTA with Honda, making them the second factory he’ d won in MotoGP with, Rins then suffered a broken leg at Mugello that derailed the campaign and nearly his career. He moved to Yamaha for 2024 and impressed the engineers, and he remains part of the project as they look to move forward. Not yet quite on the level with Fabio Quartararo, Rins will be looking for more in terms of his own results too. With two more Yamahas joining the grid as well, Rins’ experienced adds to that of his teammate in showing the lay of the land to new arrivals Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller.

Nadat 2023 was begonnen met een glorieuze overwinning op COTA met Honda, de tweede fabriek waarmee hij won in de MotoGP, brak Rins zijn been op Mugello wat zijn hele programma overhoop gooide en bijna het einde van zijn carrière betekende. Hij ging naar Yamaha voor 2024, maakte indruk op de technici en blijft deel uitmaken van het project terwijl de juiste richting wordt gezocht om progressie te boeken. Rins zit nog niet helemaal op het niveau van Fabio Quartararo, maar kijkt ook meer naar hoe hij zijn eigen resultaten kan verbeteren. Met nog twee Yamaha ' s op de grid, is de ervaring van Rins en zijn teammaat waardevol om Miguel Oliveira en Jack Miller wegwijs te maken.
