It’ s not an exaggeration to say 2025 has not gone to plan for Alex Rins. In his second season with Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™, the Spaniard has amassed just one top ten finishes aboard the M1 and has struggled to match the speed of team-mate Fabio Quartararo.

Getting the most from his current package in time attack settings has been one of Rins’ main issues throughout the year. Failing to get out of Q1 on several occasions in the first twelve rounds has had a knock-on effect on his race results.

“ Right now, it ' s really tough,” he admitted just before the summer break.“ It ' s really tough to do better, not in terms of result, but in terms of lap time. We have no option to overtake or to fight. OK, maybe in the first laps, with the good grip, we can put the bike in. But that ' s all. If we need to focus on one thing right now, it is qualifying, to start in a better position.
