Recycling & Waste Reduction
Bin It Right Please help keep Silverstone tidy and litter free! Launched in 2024, our Bin it Right campaign encourages better waste segregation at source. Our bins now include dedicated compartments for compostable and food waste, supporting our transition to fully compostable disposables. Thanks to this, our recycling rate rose to 47 % in 2024, help us achieve 60 % this year by popping your waste into the right compartments.
Free water for all Bring your own reusable water bottle and re-fill as many times as you like throughout the weekend by using one of the 135 taps across our 27 water stations on-site. We have removed all single-use plastic bottles from all food and drink vendors to reduce the amount of single-use plastic at our events.
Donating food to the local community Silverstone has partnered with South Northants Volunteer Bureau( snvb) Community Larders( TowFood) to redistribute surplus food from events and daily operations to our local community. Since 2021, we have donated 60 tonnes of food. If you or anyone you know needs support accessing affordable food, or would like to support snvb, more information is hosted on their website: www. towfood. org. uk.
Biodiversity Partnership with National Trust We are excited to announce our partnership with our neighbouring National Trust site; Stowe Gardens! We will be focusing on how we can improve the biodiversity of the site over the coming years and through working with Stowe to enhance local biodiversity, there will be many opportunities for you all to get involved.
